Lok Sabha elections: Keen tussle in assembly bypolls

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Congress turncoats on three of the four assembly seats where bypolls were declared. Polling on these seats will take place on April 23 along with the general election.

Manavadar, Unjha,

Dhrangadhra

and Jamnagar Rural seats fell vacant when their sitting MLAs, all Congressmen, left the party and joined the BJP ahead of the 2019 polls.

The Talala bypoll was announced after the speaker disqualified Congress MLA Bhaga Barad following his conviction. The EC notified the poll but it was stayed by the Supreme Court.
