Eunuch joins the Ahmedabad East fray

AHMEDABAD: Naresh Jaiswal (28) alias Raju Mataji, on Wednesday became the first

eunuch

to file her nomination for the Ahmedabad East seat in the

Lok Sabha

elections this year.


She declared that except for a gold ring worth Rs 10,000 she has no other gold and that she lives in her father’s house in Saraspur, which is worth Rs 3 lakh. She also revealed that she has Rs 64,000 in her bank account.

“I am a priest at a community temple in Saraspur. I do not go around in the city attending functions or begging like other eunuchs. I have shown my employment to be small labour work.”

The only other eunuch to have filed a Lok Sabha nomination was Imran Ajmeri alias Sonia De in the 2004 and 2009 elections, against BJP’s LK Advani in Gandhinagar. In 2011, Ajmeri was murdered in Ahmedabad.
