Another photo of Congress candidate carrying notes goes viral

VADODARA: There seems to be no end to the woes of Panchmahal Congress candidate V K Khant who is under the scanner for carrying currency notes in hand during campaigning. Another photograph of Khant holding a wad of notes during campaigning has gone viral.


Khant had come under the scanner on Sunday after a picture of him holding a large number of currency notes during campaigning was circulated widely. The photograph was of campaigning during Shehra.

When the district election officer came to know about the incident, the nodal officer of Shehra assembly segment was ordered to look into the matter. Sources said that the photograph circulated on Monday may also be of the same day.

BJP’s Panchmahal functionaries said that the state unit would be taking up the issue. “It has been decided by the party that the state leadership will look into the issue,” said

Sources said that the photograph circulated on Monday could also be of April 9 when Khant had campaigned in parts of Shehra assembly segment. If that is the case, no new complaint may have to be filed.
