Amit Shah declares assets worth Rs 30.5 crore
GANDHINAGAR: BJP national president and
Gandhinagar goes to polls on April 23.
As per his tax return forms, his total income which stood at Rs 41,93,218 in 2013-14 rose to Rs 53,90,970 in 2017-18. This is the first LS elections where candidates have been mandated to declare five year IT returns. Also, EC now insists that candidates declare current market value of land and other properties, which could be much higher than their purchase price.
According to his affidavit, Shah has movable assets worth Rs 18,24,25,591 while his wife has movable assets worth Rs 5,30,07,674.
Similarly, Shah owns immovable assets worth Rs 12,24,75,093;while those of his wife have are valued at Rs 3,05,23,738. Shah's immovable assets include 11.885 acres of agricultural land in Karbatiya village in Vadnagar worth Rs 80,23,738. This property was inherited by his wife Sonalben in which both of them are 40% partners each. He owns agricultural land in Leelapur village in Daskroi valued Rs 45,61,280.
BJP's Gandhinagar candidate has declared non-agricultural land which has current market value of Rs 6,26,00,000 in Shilaj which he inherited. He declared he has also inherited two commercial properties-- one on Ashram Road in Ahmedabad that carries a current market price of Rs 1,50,00,000 while another commercial property in Surya Complex in Memnagar is valued at Rs 15 lakh.
Shah has also inherited listed shares worth Rs 14,64,19,113. along with a residential property in Mansa worth Rs 2.5 lakh. The BJP chief has declared that he jointly owns a bungalow in Sudip Society in Thaltej which is valued at Rs 1.5 crore. He has Rs 18,89,710 in his banks account and fixed deposits according to the affidavit while his wife has Rs 18,72,172.
The senior BJP leader also has liabilities of Rs 15,77,037 by means of loans taken from two persons. His wife has a liability of Rs 31,92,550 by means of loans. He has declared that he does not own any vehicle.
