Team prepares ammo for BJP to counter rivals
NEW DELHI: Delhi BJP on Wednesday finalised the strategy to counter the campaigns of Congress and AAP in public meetings and media debates.
While Congress has decided to base its campaign on party president Rahul Gandhi’s promise to provide minimum income to the poorest of the country, AAP has made full statehood for Delhi its poll plank.
Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari called a meeting of party spokespersons, media panellists, conventional teams and those in charge of social media and discussed how to counter the rival parties.
Though BJP has planned its campaign around the achievements of the Narendra Modi government and failures of AAP in Delhi, the party is often asked its views on statehood and now on the ‘NYAY’ scheme. “We have a research team comprising 36 people which gives our leaders and spokespersons back-end support on all these issues. We are exposing the AAP government on the 70 promises it had made before the 2015 Delhi election and the research team provides us with all the ammunition,” said media co-in charge Neelkant Bakshi.
The research team, said Bakshi, has carried out surveys and made close to 700 videos of people talking about issues affecting their areas.
The Purvanchal Morcha of Delhi BJP also held a meeting on Wednesday and decided to campaign for the party by visits to parks in areas dominated by people from Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Their campaign will begin on Thursday with visits to 15-16 major parks in each of the 14 districts.
