NEW DELHI:

Slamming

the opposition for advocating

scrapping

of the sedition law, BJP president Amit Shah asked the

crowd

at a rally in Rohini on Saturday that in such a situation, how someone spying for Pakistan would be sent to jail. Those who raise “tukde tukde” slogans will remain in

jail

as long as the Modi government is there, he emphasised.

National security is the biggest issue in this Lok Sabha elections because PM Narendra Modi has ensured the security of the country and taught a lesson to Pakistan, Shah claimed. “Under Modi, India has a clear policy of retaliation. Every bullet from Pakistan will be retaliated with a mortar,” he said amid chants of ‘Modi, Modi’ by many who came to listen to him.

The rally was organised to drum up support for two BJP candidates — Harsh Vardhan (Chandni Chowk) and Hans Raj Hans (North West).

Referring to Indian Air Force pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan, Hans Raj said, “A braveheart of ours was trapped there (inside Pakistan). What was his name… O, people! Never forget his name! What was his name…Abhinandan! We were afraid that he may meet the fate of Sarabjit (Singh) because it (Pakistan) is a rogue nation.” He claimed that it was Modi’s international influence that had forced Pakistan to return him safely to India.

Shah, who came directly from Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s constituency, Amethi, was hours behind his schedule. This made many in the crowd disappointed and several people left the venue. “I have directly come from Amethi. This time lotus will bloom in Amethi,” Shah claimed.

Shah asked Rahul and AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal to make their stand clear on the demand for a separate Prime Minister for Kashmir. “Kashmir is the crown of mother India. No one can take it away from India till BJP is here. Even when BJP will not be in power, Kashmir cannot be taken away till BJP workers are alive.” He said BJP would withdraw Article 370 from Kashmir.

Aware that BJP has to fight both Congress and AAP on all seven seats in Delhi, Shah attacked both Rahul and Kejriwal with equal force. “When 40 jawans were martyred in Pulwama, the entire country was filled with gloom. On Modi’s order, IAF bravely avenged the attack. The country was celebrating, but the camps of Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal were filled with gloom as they were worried for votes,” Shah said.

With a big poster on fighting terrorism and infiltrators put up in the front of the dais, Hans Raj pinned his speech on Modi. “In his hands, the country is secure. Earlier, the governments were disinclined to retaliate but Modi retaliated with unprecedented power.”

Harsh Vardhan said it was beyond doubt that in 2019 Modi would become PM and India would become the vishwa guru in future.
