New Delhi: Digital Rath, volunteers in metro trains and brainstorming sessions with young voters are among the ideas that the BJP has found to campaign for its Lok Sabha candidates.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, who is contesting from North-East Delhi, will use a digital rath for his campaign that will have features like LED display. The rath is actually a minibus with large screens that will run videos of candidates as well as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches in Ayodhya.
It will show visuals of the event too, BJP leader Neelkant Bakshi said.
“It will also show videos of opposition candidates where they have questioned nationalist sentiments and the Army’s valour so that people know the kind of people chosen by the opposition,” he said. The rath, which is being readied, will travel across the constituency, Bakshi said. He is also looking after Tiwari’s campaign.
East Delhi candidate Harsh Malhotra will use metro trains to campaign. “We are finalising a set of volunteers who will travel in Delhi Metro wearing T-shirts which will have party’s branding.”
He said all of East Delhi has been covered by Delhi Metro which has been due to central govt’s assistance as well. He said metro trains help to reach out to a large voter base in a short span of time.
The party is also reaching out to young voters in large numbers after their internal surveys showed that PM Modi is popular among the youth.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva addressed a brainstorming session titled ‘Young Voters: Destiny Makers of India’, organised at Delhi University on Monday. Other party functionaries have also been told out to reach out to the youth in their college areas.

Sachdeva said: “Today, India is a country filled with youth who are not only playing an important role in shaping the future of India but also contributing to the development of many countries around the world.”
He said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given meaningful guidance and encouragement to the youth in every discussion, whether it be about school exams, the use of social media, gaming, or youth entrepreneurship. We must give our full support to the PM in building the future of India.”
Voting in Delhi is on May 25 during the sixth phase of polling. The BJP, which has won all seven seats for two consecutive terms, would this time face the challenge from allies AAP and Congress.
