Delhi: BJP woos voters with housing for all by 2022
NEW DELHI: Every family without a home, or those with a kuchha house, will get a pukka one in Delhi by 2022. This was one of the benefits announced by Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari if the party came back to power again at the Centre.
Underlining the water crisis in Delhi, which sometimes results in fights, Tiwari said BJP will provide piped potable water to each household by 2024. The party, which currently holds all seven
Hitting out at Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Tiwari said that the AAP chief is misleading Delhiites on full statehood. “The issues with which Kejriwal came to power in 2015 didn’t include full statehood. Now that more than four years have lapsed and the AAP government has done nothing, Kejriwal is talking about full statehood,” he said.
Tiwari said Delhi doesn’t need full statehood for getting clean water, pollution-free air, health facilities, electricity, clean Yamuna, good schools, etc.
In BJP’s manifesto, a provision has been made for pension for small traders aged over 60 years so that they can lead a respectable life. “GST is being simplified and registered small traders will get accident insurance of Rs 10 lakh. There is also a scheme of trader’s credit card, just like the one for farmers. National Traders Commission will also be formed for their benefit,” Tiwari said.
The state BJP chief accused deputy CM Manish Sisodia of misusing his official position by writing to parents of schoolchildren appealing not to vote for BJP.
“The Modi government has resolved to open 200 new schools on the lines of Kendriya Vidyalaya and Navodaya Vidyalaya. The Kejriwal government didn’t open a single school or college in the past four years. Delhi government didn’t even implement the 10% reservation for EWS. Obstructing Ayushman Bharat and 10% reservation to higher castes is betrayal of the people of Delhi by Kejriwal,” Tiwari alleged.
