NEW DELHI:
BJP will intensify its campaign for the Lok Sabha elections immediately after the
Holi. A door-to-door campaign is likely to be launched after the festival and a large number of T-shirts and caps with ‘Mai Bhi Chowkidaar’ written on them will be distributed in large numbers.
“We hope to get the T-shirts and other material in a day or so and are going to make the ‘Mai Bhi Chowkidaar’ campaign viral in the city,” said a senior leader.
Not only the party cadre will wear these T-shirts and caps, BJP will also give them to anybody interested, he added. “We are also putting up ‘Mai Bhi Chowkidar’ hoardings across the city.”
The ‘Mai Bhi Chowkidaar’ campaign has gone viral on social media with all party leaders, starting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself, prefixing ‘chowkidar’ before their names on their accounts.
BJP will also distribute ‘NaMo Again’ publicity material and handbills with information on various schemes launched by the BJP government at the Centre for the upliftment of the poor and how those schemes have benefitted Delhiites. The senior leader said they had prepared the campaign material, which would cover the whole city in the next few days.
The party will set up various committees to look after the election campaign, public rallies and meetings as well as overall management of the elections. A team of advocates will also be there to deal with various issues.
“We are also finalising our committees that will look after various aspects of election. The ad campaign committee will look after our advertisements and hoardings while the election committee will look after the overall campaign with a senior leader as its chairman,” said another leader.
Another team will deal with election commission issues while a team of advocates will check if opposition parties are making any defamatory or libellous statement against BJP or our leaders, said a source.
