‘Masood Azhar win shows why we need Narendra Modi’
NEW DELHI: Hours after United Nations declared Jaish-e-Mohammad chief
At his first rally in Delhi at Vasant Kunj, Shah said, “It is because of PM Narendra Modi and his diplomatic efforts that the UN has designated Masood Azhar as a global terrorist. It was long overdue… I want to congratulate PM Modi for his diplomatic achievement.”
Addressing a packed ground in South Delhi constituency, Shah said ever since the BJP government took over, Pakistan has been given befitting replies on the diplomatic front.
“There was a time when they (Pakistan) used to spread terrorism and make allegations against us in diplomacy. Ever since the Modi government has come to power, Pakistan has been isolated in the entire world,” Shah said amid loud cheers. “The entire world stands with India and accepted that Pakistan is giving shelter to terrorists.”
Listing the infrastructural projects carried out by the Centre in Delhi, Shah said the Modi government had spent more than Rs 1 lakh crore to improve living conditions in Delhi. He, however, asked people not to vote for the central government or its MPs for their work but for the security provided by PM Modi in the country.
Accusing the Congress-led UPA government for doing little to prevent terrorists crossing into Indian territory and killing soldiers, Shah said the BJP government avenged the killing of 40 security personnel in the Pulwama attack within 13 days by demolishing terror training camps inside Pakistan.
“The Congress says we should talk to Pakistan. But let me make it clear that if Pakistan fires a bullet on us, we will reply with a bomb. We are not going to bow down,” Shah said.
He also promised to remove sections 370 and 35A from Kashmir if BJP is voted to power.
Criticising the AAP government for its “inaction” against the “anti-India” slogans allegedly raised at an even in JNU in 2015, Shah said the BJP government will not “spare anyone” and send anyone raising such slogans behind bars. “Till the time even a single BJP member is alive we will not let the country disintegrate,” Shah said.
Referring to a survey conducted by a BJP affiliated think tank, Shah said the AAP government failed to fulfil 67 of the 70 promises made. He also accused chief minister Arvind Kejriwal of changing his statements. “Kejriwal had promised to send Sheila Dikshit to jail for CWG corruption cases. But he first formed a government with them and was now pleading with them for an alliance,” Shah said.
The BJP president also claimed that he had campaigned in 280 LS seats across the country and the mood everywhere was saffron. “Delhiites also seem to have decided to give all seven seats to BJP,” Shah said.
