PATNA: After an initial hiccup in starting his campaign trail on Monday and an almost two-hour delay, two-time sitting MP and Congress’ Patna Sahib candidate
Clad in a pathan suit, all that Shatrughan had to do was wave at the crowd when everyone broke into cheerful rejoices. The actor-turned politician had the support of his entire family on Monday. Earlier in the evening, Poonam Sinha could be spotted at Chitkohra’s Punjabi Colony area garnering support for her hubby.

Poonam told TOI, “People are really happy with the fact that we are trying to bring about a change. His (Shatrughan) party might have changed, but people love him. That’s more than what we need.”
Shatrughan too echoed his wife later at Kankerbagh when he said, “Everything is cool and the people of Bihar love me. As I said earlier, the situation might have changed but the location will not.”
Talking to TOI about Amit Shah’s roadshow last week, Shatrughan said, “Hum yahan aye hai samarpan ki bhavna ke saath, Amit Shah ki tarah samarthan ki bhavna se nahi. (I have come here with the idea to submit myself and not to ask for support like Amit Shah.)”
Addressing the crowd, Shatru said the BJP government ruined the county with steps like demonetisation and GST and the time had come to bring about a change.
The huge crowd intermittently kept chanting ‘Bihari babu zindabaad’ as Shatrughan spoke. His wife too addressed the audience and asked them to support him “for a change at the Centre”.
While the couple was addressing the crowd, a shy Kush Sinha, Shatrughan’s son, could be seen patiently sitting on the stage. Approached and asked about what he felt would happen in his father’s constituency, he said, “My father’s old party is trying to claim that he has done no work and cannot be seen in his constituency. He has, in fact, used 106% of his funds to develop his constituency. If he wouldn’t have been among the people, why would they vote for him twice?”
Asked whether he too would like to step into his father’s shoes and join active politics, Kush instantly replied, “No. I am here as a son and it is my duty to support them in whatever they do.”
