AMBALA: A few hours after casting her vote in Hisar, Congress’s Ambala candidate Kumari Selja said she was not taking the contest against BJP’s
Rattan Lal Kataria lightly, but was confident of winning on the basis of her works done in Ambala during her two terms as MP in 2009 and 2004.
Selja said, “I have never taken my contestants lightly and prepare my ground accordingly.
It is the mandate of the public which will decide the winner.”
She had reached her residence at Ambala Cantonment at around 12.30pm after casting her vote in Hisar, following which she left for a round of her constituency.
Taking an indirect jibe at Selja’s confidence, Kataria said, “Dil Behlane Ko Khayal Acha Hai Ghalib.”
Kataria, who exercised his franchise at Mansa Devi Complex in Panchkula, said, “We will win a big margin as we did in all the nine assembly constituencies in Ambala. I have visited all these segments with the public praising policies of Prime Minister Modi and have high expectations from BJP again.”
When questioned that possible public resentment against him, Kataria said, “The public was never unhappy with me. It was just a conspiracy of the Congress to derail our campaign.”
