NEW DELHI: Both AAP and
Congress were extremely critical of BJP’s vision document released on Tuesday.
AAP said that fact that it was released three days before polls showed that BJP had no concrete plan for Delhi. “They have not been successful in keeping the promises made in 2013. Dr Harsh Vardhan had promised full statehood for Delhi. However, Kiran Bedi and Narendra Modi have gone back on this vow and don’t want to give citizens of Delhi any power over their own lives.
It is clear that no thought or research has gone into the BJP document. For example, it has no numbers or concrete facts that the party can be held accountable to,” said an AAP spokesperson.
Meanwhile, Congress accused BJP of making a ‘U-turn’ on the issue of full statehood for Delhi. The only thing that BJP’s vision document lacks is ‘vision’, said party spokesman Randeep Surajewala. He also claimed the document has “neither content nor intent.”
“It is a caricature of empty rhetoric, brazen falsehood and lofty words stated with a deceptive impunity, symbolic of BJP’s character,” he said. He added that a “hurriedly cobbled” document instead of a regular manifesto reflects the “all round fear, frustration and divisions within BJP.”
