"The people of Bihar shiver even today at mere mention of the days of 'jungle raj' during the RJD rule...Nitish Kumar may have forgotten those days of horror and gone back to the RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and Congress for lust for power, but the electorate of the state have definitely not forgotten," he alleged in a statement.
Recounting the days of the RJD rule, when criminals drove in luxury vehicles brandishing guns and looting vehicles from showrooms.
"How come one forgets mass massacre in Bihar at regular intervals bringing shame to the state and the country,"
Sushil Modi, a former deputy chief minister, wondered.
The villages in rural areas witnessed silence akin to that of graveyards by evening and doctors, engineers, businessmen were made to flee from Bihar. So bad were those days of 'jungle raj! Sushil Modi claimed.
The "crime and misrule" in Bihar had attained "dizzying heights" and it had become a "shame" to call oneself a Bihari, forcing people to hide their identity, Sushil Modi said, and asked the chief minister whether he wanted return of those old days.
On the Congress president asking the Prime Minister not to worry about Bihar during rallies, on Saturday, Sushil Modi said that he had no right to give advice to the Prime Minister, having been a partner of the 'jungle raj' for five years.
