PATNA: The state
BJP on Saturday cleared all doubts on Prime Minister
Narendra Modi’s forthcoming election rallies in Bihar saying that the latter would address eight rallies for the third and fourth phases.
State BJP chief Mangal Pandey said the PM would address three rallies on October 25 at Marhaura (Saran), Hajipur (Vaishali) and Nalanda airport ground. On October 26, he will address another rally at Buxar airport ground.
All these districts will go to polls in the second phase on October 28.
For the fourth phase, the PM will address rallies in Siwan on October 26 and Bettiah, Motihari and Sitamarhi on October 27. The fourth phase of election will take place on November 1.
Interestingly, BJP’s Patna Saheb MP
Shatrughan Sinha also tweeted on Saturday that the ‘star campaigner PM’ would address eight rallies in the state in third and fourth phases.
Mahagathbandhan functionaries had earlier remarked that the BJP had cancelled PM’s rallies for second phase at Buxar and Hajipur on October 16 at the last moment to save him from embarrassment as the NDA was facing a certain defeat in the assembly election. Pandey, however, said the success of PM’s election rallies had proved a nightmare for Mahagathbandhan functionaries.
Communications and IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said it is yet to be decided if the PM would address rallies on October 28, the day of third phase polling in the state. “Heads of 50 South American and other countries are coming to Delhi. This, too, has to be seen and accounted for,” Prasad added.
Meanwhile, the use of phrase “our star campaigner PM” by Shatrughan Sinha in his tweet has raised many eyebrows in the party. His yet another tweet in the series read, “Some local dictatorial leaders are solely responsible for creating the mess and an undesirable situation in Bihar.” The other tweet read, “Hope and wish that despite some teething problems, we perform as expected in the Bihar elections.”
