PATNA: JD(U) has made the rape of two minors in Delhi a poll issue, saying the NDA government has paralysed law and order in the national capital. On the contrary, the party claimed, Patna is safer than Delhi and most of the BJP-ruled states.
JD(U) chief spokesperson Sanjay Singh criticized
Narendra Modi for the rape of a five-year-old girl at Anand Vihar and a two-and-a-half-year-old toddler at Nangloi on Friday.
He said Modi government had paralysed the police administration in Delhi, turning India’s capital into a rape capital.
Countering the BJP’s ‘jungle raj’ comment against Mahagathbandhan, Singh said, “Prime Minister along with other ministers are trying to create panic among people in
Bihar by speaking of ‘jungle raj’, but the real ‘jungle raj’ is in Delhi where police are under the Union government’s command. In Bihar, it is ‘kanoon raj’ under Nitish Kumar’s leadership. Here, women are empowered and the crime rate against them is less.”
Citing the data of National Crime Record Bureau, Singh said Bihar ranked 29th in crime against women, and 22nd in overall crime. ‘Jungle raj’ prevails in Delhi and BJP-ruled states. He also criticized senior BJP leader and Karnataka BJP functionary K S Eshwarappa for asking a woman journalist “What can opposition do if someone drags and rapes her”.
Turning to assembly election in Bihar, Singh stated that Mahagathbandhan was emerging as the winner and wherever Narendra Modi went for campaigning, NDA was losing. Calling NaMo a bad omen for NDA, Singh said, “It will be better for us if PM Narendra Modi holds more rallies in Bihar. Indirectly, he is helping us.”
