PRAYAGRAJ: Hitting out at the Samajwadi Party (SP), Chief Minister
Yogi Adityanath said on Friday that “the opposition, mainly the SP, is searching for a hole to hide themselves in as they have already conceded defeat. They have also booked tickets for England, but because of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, they have nowhere to escape after March 10 and are thus searching for hole to hide”.
Yogi was speaking at a number of public meetings on the last day of campaigning for the fifth phase of assembly elections at Chitrakoot and Prayagraj.
He also held a roadshow in Allahabad West assembly segment in the evening.
He said, “Be it terrorists, rioters, mafia or criminals, they are all some way or the other associated with the SP, which uses them for their own vested interest.” “For the SP, construction of boundary wall of graveyards is considered development whereas for us (BJP), it is the development of ‘dhams’ (holy places) or construction of expressway and welfare of the masses,” said Yogi, mentioning the examples of Lalapur of Chitrakoot, Vidhyavasani Dham of Vindyachal, Ayodhya, Kashi and not to forget Kumbh of Prayagraj. While addressing huge gatherings of supporters at Prayagraj and Chitrakoot, the CM said, “Against the slogan of the
BJP, i.e., Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas, for the SP the slogan goes, ‘Sabka Sath, keval Saifai khandaan ka vikas’ (support of all and development of only family belonging to Saifai).”
Further targetting the SP, he said: “They (SP) were applauding the villain, Jinnah. At the time we BJP) were distributing tablets to the youths, SP was busy praising Pakistan.”
He said that during the BJP rule of the last five years, traders were safe and there had been no riots in the state. “Now ,in place of ‘bumbazi’ (hurling crude bombs), now UP hears ‘Bum Bum Bhole’ chanted by Shiva Bhakts. This is the new UP of the new Bharat,” said Yogi.
Yogi said, “SP people are nowadays sweating after hearing the name of bulldozer as this is our instrument which constructs highways and at the same time, demolishes properties of mafias.”
Lambasting the previous SP government in regard to proving uninterrupted power supply during Muslim festivals, Yogi said that prior to 2017, even electricity had religion but now uninterrupted power supply provided during BJP rule is for everyone, irrespective of caste and religion. In the evening, Yogi took out a roadshow, beginning from Jhalwa crossing and passing through Rajrupur, Chakia, Lukerganj trisection, Machli Bazar, Khuldabad and culminating at Nakhas Kohna. Amidst huge turnout of supporters walking along the truck during the roadshow, Yogi was on top of the vehicle along with BJP’s candidate from Allahabad West Sidharth Nath Singh and from Allahabad North Harshvardhan Bajpai. However, with the time limit to end the campaigning on the last day of the fifth phase came nearer, Yogi came down from the vehicle and rushed towards Loknath were he was to address a public meeting in support of BJP candidate from Allahabad South Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi.
In his brief address at Loknath, in support of BJP candidate and cabinet minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, Yogi appealed to the voters to vote for Nandi and make sure that BJP comes to power in this election.
