With the Congress party securing a substantial lead in the Telangana assembly elections, Revanth Reddy has emerged as a prominent figure and a leading candidate for the top position. His defection from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to the Indian National Congress (INC) has garnered considerable interest and reshaped the political scenario in the state. Revanth Reddy's strategic moves and charismatic leadership appear to have yielded positive results for the Congress party in the region, dealing a significant setback to Chief Minister KCR and the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS). In 2017, his shift to the Indian National Congress marked a significant development in Telangana politics, bringing substantial influence and fostering a dedicated support base. In the 2019 general elections, Revanth Reddy contested as a Congress candidate and secured victory in the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat. In June 2021, he assumed the role of the president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC).
