GURDASPUR: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal made an appeal to Punjab's voters here on Wednesday to "reject the outsiders and have faith in the time-tested political party".
Addressing a public gathering in support of Rajanbir Singh Ghuman, Sukhbir said: "The SAD-BSP alliance alone represents the regional aspirations of the people." Questioning why Punjabis should trust AAP, he said: "Its convener came to Punjab five years ago and they won 20 seats to emerge as the principal opposition party in the state.
However, instead of raising the voice of the people, 11 out those 20 legislators merged with the Congress."
He told Punjabi voters: "You have suffered already by trusting the false oaths of former chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh. Now a party of outsiders is trying to sway you by asking for a chance."
