Councillor Hemraj Aggarwal quits Congress, to contest as an Independent
LUDHIANA: Two days after the Congress party allotted ticket from Ludhiana North to sitting MLA Rakesh Pandey, a senior leader of party and councillor of ward number 27, Hemraj Aggarwal, finally resigned from the party along with 50 of his supporters.
Announcing this, Aggarwal called a meeting of his workers and mediapersons at his residence on Saturday morning.
He has also declared that he will now contest as an Independent candidate from the North constituency and election results of this seat will show the mirror to the party.
Lashing out at Congress, Aggarwal said, "By giving ticket to an unworthy and non-deserving person like Rakesh Pandey, party has cheated all its hard working leaders and cadre who had been working tirelessly day and night from the past 10 years to bring back party into power. Pandey has only sought votes in name of his father Late Joginder Pal Pandey but after winning he never showed his face to the people of the constituency. How would people vote for someone who never reached in their hour of distress and never helped them"
