KOLLAM

: On the last day of filing nominations for the upcoming elections to the state legislature, 45 candidates filed their papers on Friday. With this, the total number of nomination papers filed in the district has risen to 94.


Kottarakkara constituency witnessed the highest number of nominations with 11 candidates filing their papers.

Kollam and Chavara have six candidates each. Punalur and Kundara constituencies have 10 candidates each.

Nine candidates each filed their papers in Iravipuram and Chathhannur constituencies.

Karunagappally

, Kunnathur and

Pathanapuram

constituencies have eight nominations.

At Karunagappally, UDF’s C R Mahesh and NDA’s Bitty filed their nomination papers.

At Kollam, LDF candidate M Mukesh and BJP’s M Sunil filed their papers before ADC D Shins.

In the Chathannur constituency, NDA candidate B B Gopakumar filed the papers before Ithikkara BDO G Sheyni.
