Krishnaraja Assembly constituency is one of the 224 constituencies in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. It is situated in the Mysore district. The constituency has a significant number of Scheduled Caste (SC) voters, with approximately 32,555 SC voters at Krishnaraja assembly. As of 2023, the next Krishnaraja Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Election is yet to take place, and the Integrated Draft Electoral Roll of eligible voters was published on 1st January 2020.
It is a legislative assembly constituency in the Mysore district of Karnataka, India. The constituency is named after the erstwhile ruler of Mysore, Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV, who was the 24th Maharaja of the Kingdom of Mysore. The constituency is part of the Mysore Lok Sabha constituency.
As per the last update, the Krishnaraja assembly constituency consists of the following areas: Chamundipuram, Sriramapura, Raghavendranagar, Vijayanagar 1st stage, Vijayanagar 2nd stage, Vijayanagar 3rd stage, Gokulam 1st stage, Gokulam 2nd stage, Gokulam 3rd stage, Lakshmipuram, Vontikoppal, Kuvempunagar, Ramakrishnanagar, and Jayalakshmipuram.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections held in 2018, BJP’s S. A. Ramadas won from the constituency defeating M.K.Somashekar of Congress.
The constituency falls under the Mysore Lok Sabha constituency. Mysore Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka, India. It includes the Mysuru city and parts of the Mysuru district.
The current Member of Parliament (MP) from Mysore Lok Sabha constituency is Pratap Simha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who was elected in the 2019 general elections. Simha won the seat by defeating the Indian National Congress (INC) candidate, C.H. Vijayashankar, with a margin of 1,38,647 votes.
