BJP president JP Nadda on Sunday released the party's manifesto for the Himachal Pradesh assembly polls. The party had formed a committee to take suggestions from the general public to draft the manifesto. In its manifesto, the BJP promised to implement the uniform civil code, if reelected to office. The party has said that an expert committee would be formed and based on the recommendations of this committee the uniform civil code would be implemented. The BJP manifesto talks about 11 commitments to bring uniformity in society, youth empowerment and to give respect to government employees. The party promised 5 more medical colleges in the state, a Rs 900 crore fund for skill development and end discrimination in remuneration of government employees. The party also promised to give 33 per cent reservation to women in government jobs in Himachal and provide cycles for girl students in classes 6 to 12.
