TMC worker shot at and injured

A TMC activist was attacked by bike-borne assailants and suffered a bullet wound on his chest. TMC blamed CPI(M) for the attack and said the Left was trying to unleash terror after seeing the groundswell of support for the TMC in the entire Nandigram-Khejuri belt.

TAMLUK: A Trinamool Congress (TMC) worker was shot at and injured in Khejri area of East Midnapore district, a day after the final and sixth phase of voting for West Bengal assembly polls.
A police officer said the TMC activist was attacked by bike-borne assailants and suffered a bullet wound on his chest. He was admitted to Tamluk Hospital.
The TMC candidate from Khejuri Ranjit Mondal blamed CPI(M) for the attack and said the Left was trying to unleash terror after seeing the groundswell of support for the TMC in the entire Nandigram-Khejuri belt.

The CPI(M) alleged the attack was due to an internal squabble of the TMC.
