Kolkata: The opposition on Tuesday hammered the Trinamool where it hurts most - the integrity of chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
Campaigning at Mamata's home turf in Bhowanipore, jote candidate Deepa Das Munshi questioned Mamata's claims on industry. "The CM keeps looking at her phone. She wishes at least one industrialist will call her. Or at least give a missed call. But sadly, neither has come. She is getting frustrated," Deepa said. Taking adig at Mamata's attempt to woo the business community, she added: "She want only telebhaja and muri industry. Do the parents want their children to sell telebhaja? The only industry thriving here is promoter raaj and goonda raaj."
Referring to Narada, Adhir Choudhury and Surjya Kanta Mishra launched a combined attack on Mamata. "You are heading a gang if thugs. They are extorting money under your watch. You cannot disown the responsibility.," said Adhir.
Surya added: "Now-a-days the CM is not holding exhibitions of painting and selling them. Has hse stopped painting or what? Your gang is looting everything, from coal, construction materials to PhD degrees. You are the head."
