On Tuesday, CPM alleged fresh attacks on their party's Jadavpur candidate Sujan Chakraborty's poll agent, Gautam Kar. Local CPM leader Buddhadeb Ghosh, who and his family faced the brunt of attack the day before, alleged that that Kar and his sister-in-law were threatened by a biker gang. A while later, the gang came back, beating up the sister-in-law and vandalizing a fast-food shop he runs. No one has been arrested yet.

Several reports of violence continued to trickle in from all over the state. At Anaicara village in Murshidabad's Jiyaganj, a 35-year-old Trinamool worker who's also a madrassa teacher was shot dead by goons, allegedly by Congress goons. Nanigopal Mondal was refuelling his bike at a petrol pump when the incident occurred. At Canning's Bethberia, three CPM workers were attacked on Monday. One of them has suffered a fractured skull. At Sridharnagar in Sunderbans' Patharpratima, TMC supporter Ananda Bhanja was hit in the head with an iron rod.

In Bankura's Mejia, unidentified youths ransacked a Trinamool office late on Monday. Local leaders of the ruling party lodged a police complaint against CPM workers. Bankura Trinamool leader Arup Chakraborty said: "CPM workers were involved in the attack." The CPM rejected this charge.

Hooghly's Arambag and Khanakul continued to be rocked by post-poll violence. CPM worker Habibur Midda alleged he was beaten up by Trinamool goons at Khanakul's Ghoshpur Market on Tuesday. At Arambag's Baishmail village, police recovered five bombs from a padlocked room on the banks of the river Darakeshwar. Cops have begun a probe.
