PMK has fielded four candidates below the age of 30 for the May 16 Tamil Nadu assembly polls. S Murali Shankar, 27, who will contest from Harur (reserved) in Dharmapuri, is a football player who attended a camp for national team probables in 2009. This MBA graduate also runs a sports academy to train students in football.
In Anna Nagar, the party has fielded Akhilesh Arani Malli Chetty, 27, a marine engineer who represented India in Japan as a junior ambassador.
Ashok Jayendar, also 27, contesing from Singanallur, holds a mechanical engineering degree from a UK university and he returned to Coimbatore in 2014 to set up his own business. He started a non-profit called Team Acham Illai. Suresh Kumar, 29, the party’s candidate in Mylapore, is an engineer from Anna University who runs an academy to teach underprivileged students.
