Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday called upon the youth in Tamil Nadu to look beyond AIADMK and DMK, which are tainted by corruption, and find an alternative in BJP, which is a “corruption-free” party.

CHENNAI/HOSUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday called upon the youth in Tamil Nadu to look beyond AIADMK and DMK, which are tainted by corruption, and find an alternative in BJP, which is a “corruption-free” party.
Campaigning for BJP in Hosur and Chennai ahead of the May 16 assembly election, Modi said the youth in the state had seen dynastic and corrupt rule when AIADMK and DMK were in power and they should find an alternative in BJP, which “the third largest party in Tamil Nadu.”
He claimed that BJP is the only corruption-free party in the country.
“We are taking the nation on a corruption-free path and BJP is the only party is not facing any corruption charges,” Modi said.
The Prime Minister went on listing the scams DMK and Congress parties are facing. They include AgustaWestland chopper scam, coal scam and 2G spectrum scam that took place during UPA regime.
Modi recalled the Centre's support to Chennai during the December deluge. "Soon after we received news Chennai floods, we despatched personnel from the three forces, and I also visited the affected areas. People were between life and death and Centre rushed help," said Modi.
Speaking of the BJP government's achievement in the last two years, Modi said people have seen what good governance means.
Modi highlighted the achievements of his government, including saving of five Tamil Nadu fishermen who were sentenced to death in Sri Lanka and rescuing Father Alexis Prem Kumar from the custody militants in Afghanistan.
"The news of Father Prem being rescued from Taliban after nine months was kept a top secret till he sat on the plane back to New Delhi. Then I called the father's sister in Tamil Nadu and told her that he was safe. She did not believe that the Prime Minister was calling and I had to assure her that it was me," said Modi.
