CHENNAI: DMK chief M Karunanidhi on Monday said Tamil Nadu hopes the Election Commission will punish those who were involved in corrupt practices like distribution of money to voters.
Speaking to reporters after casting his vote at a polling booth in Gopalapuram here, Karunanidhi said, "The offenders have gone to the extent of even selling Tamil Nadu.
Though the Election Commission has controlled the money power in the state, I wonder if the EC will just stop at preventing the offenders from distributing money or go to the extent of punishing them. Tamil Nadu is waiting to see."
Asked about how many seats DMK would win, Karunanidhi said the party would get the necessary number of seats. “The prospects for the party is bright,” he added.
