TRICHY:
Shiv Sena party candidate for Nagapatinam constituency T Sundaravadivelan, 39, on Friday received an anonymous bomb threat letter demanding that he withdraw from the fray.
The sender has warned him of dire consequences if he failed to back off from the contest. The letter was delivered at his house address through India Post and it was posted in Nagapattinam district.
The anonymous sender also mentioned in the letter: "I will tell you later over phone for whom I am doing this."
The letter read: "You should come out from Shiv Sena and move out of the constituency within two days after backing off from contesting in the elections. Otherwise, you will receive a copy of the Bhagavat Gita, which had been sent to the residence of Thanga Muthukrishnan." Thangam, wife of the Shiv Sena state secretary Thanga Muthukrishnan, was killed in a letter bomb blast sent to their residence in July 1995. The killers had sent the bomb along with a Ramayana book.
