CHENNAI: One polling booth in each of the 16 constituencies in Chennai district were manned by women on Monday.
Five booth staff, including the presiding officer, were all women in these 16 booths. A corporation primary school in Thiruvanmiyur had one such all-woman polling booth.
Voters who cast their votes in the Thiruvanmiyur booth said they didn’t feel any difference.
Some voters even didn’t notice that it was an all-woman polling booth since the polling agents of the candidates were all men. They felt the candidates should have appointed women as their polling agents.
