“I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to the people of Tamil Nadu for giving a massive win to AIADMK, and electing me chief minister again. This victory belongs to you,” she said in a press statement. Jayalalithaa said that she did not have words in the dictionary to express her overwhelming feelings and gratitude to the people.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union finance minister Arun Jaitley, Governor K Rosaiah, and Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik telephoned her and greeted her.
