PMK cadres hurl stones at education minister's car

DHARMAPURI: Tension erupted on Thursday night after Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) cadres hurled stones at Tamil Nadu higher education minister P Palaniappan's car near Bommidi in Dharmapuri district.

On Thursday around 10 pm, Palaniappan was returning to Dharmapuri from Kadathur after his election campaign. When he stopped the vehicle near Sillarahalli village, a few PMK cadres who were passing by threw stones.

AIADMK cadres also threw stones in retaliation, while the minister was taken to a safer place. Police have arrested one person and booked 20 cadres.
