Nomination papers of 347 candidates accepted

Madurai: Nomination papers of 347 candidates were accepted in both Madurai and Virudhunagar districts after scrutiny of nomination papers filed for the 15th Tamil Nadu Assembly Election.
The Madurai district electoral office accepted nomination papers of 206 candidates, including 180 male candidates, 25 female candidates and 1 transgender.
In the Virudhunagar district, 141 nomination papers were accepted while rejecting 49 papers.For Madurai's ten constituencies, 257 candidates have filed nomination papers and for Virdhunagar's seven constituencies, 190 candidates have filed nomination papers between April 24 and 29.
