Election flying squad seizes 500 fake voting machines in Kumbakonam

Tanjore: More than 500 fake voting machines were seized by the election flying squad near Poondi check post in Kumbakonam on Friday.
The machines, which were being taken from Omalur to Thiruvarur through a cargo van were seized by the flying squad. The van driver, Murugesan has been arrested.
The name and logo of AIADMK candidate Panneer Selvam, who is competing from Thiruvarur Constituency, featured on all the fake machines.
Voting machines are meant to be designed by the Election commission, and any party candidate who violates the election rules faces tough action. Police is interrogating the driver to find out the cause for fake voting machines.
