Stating that there was no difference between Congress and BJP, All India Majlis-E-Ittihadul Musilmeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday said people were caught between “soft“ Hindutva of Congress and “hard“ Hindutva of BJP. It is like being caught between a rock and a hard place.
Addressing a meeting in Vaniyambadi in Vellore district on Saturday to introduce his party's candidates for Vaniyambadi and Krishnagiri constituencies, Owaisi said, “BJP says the Constitution is the only book for them.
How come the Dadri lynching incident took place and two cattle traders were killed in Jharkhand?“ Farmers, jewellers and students are not happy with the BJP government, he noted.
According to the National Crime Record Bureau report, 14% of the Muslim population in Tamil Nadu and other parts of the country were being wrongly framed and jailed. “Is this secularism?“ he asked. Criticising the Ta mil Nadu Government, he said people didn't want free mixers and grinder. “People want quality education and health care. Don't vote for free. It has value. So vote for your future,“ he said. Seeking support for his candidates, he said, “How long the you will vote for Congress and the two Dravidian parties. Give us a chance. We want your support for our candidates as the Muslims need a platform to become a political force.“ Taking into account plight of minorities , the Tamil Nadu government allocated Rs 764 crore in the budget for 2015-2016. But, in Telangana, the government has allocated Rs 1,300 crore for them, he said.
