Congress-DMK combine likely to form govt in Puducherry

PUDUCHERRY: Congress-DMK is likely to get a simple majority (16 seats) in the 30-member assembly in the Union territory of Puducherry.
The results of 25 of the total 30 constituencies have been declared. Congress has bagged 12 seats followed by AINRC eight and AIADMK four. Congress’s alliance partner DMK has bagged one seat while an independent candidate backed by CPM has bagged the Mahe assembly constituency.
Congress is leading in two constituencies and DMK in one.If the present trend continues, the Congress-DMK combine might manage to get a simple majority of 16 seats and form the government. AIADMK is leading in one constituency while the counting of one constituency is yet to be taken up.
