Pinarayi Vijayan files nomination

As per the declaration filed by CPM stalwart Pinarayi Vijayan who submitted his nomination papers on Monday, he has cash deposit and cash in hand to the tune of Rs 278603 while he has a landed property worth Rs 51.95 lakh.

KANNUR: As per the declaration filed by CPM stalwart Pinarayi Vijayan who submitted his nomination papers on Monday, he has cash deposit and cash in hand to the tune of Rs 278603 while he has a landed property worth Rs 51.95 lakh. He has no loans of vehicles. On the other hand his wife has cash and gold worth Rs 1741081, while she has a liability of Rs 795000. Her landed property is to the tune of Rs 35 lakh.
It has also mentioned that there were 11 criminal cases against him in which cognizance have been taken by the court.
Pinarayi Vijayan, who is contesting from Dharmadom constituency, submitted three sets of nominations with the returning officer, Kannur Assistant Development Commissioner (General), Saju Sebastian. The CPM candidate was escorted by the top leaders of the district as also party workers from the party district office from where they came in a procession to the office of the returning officer.
The CPM leader earlier visited former chief minister E K Nayanar's wife Sarada and also writer T Padmanabhan seeking blessings.
On Monday, a total of 27 candidates in the district filed their nominations.
