'KPJS no longer fighting for dalit cause'

KANNUR: The Adivasi Gothra Maha Sabha (AGMS) has demanded that the dalit welfare organization, Kerala Pattika Jana Samajam (KPJS), should be disbanded because it has become the `recruiting agency' of the Sangh Parivar.

“Though the organization has a great tradition, and has fought for the cause of the dalits and tribespeople, it has sacrificed the common interest of the community,“ said AGMS convener and KPJS patron, M Geethanandan on Saturday.Though KPJS stood for the civil rights of the dalits and the tribal community, it has now drifted from the cause, he said.

Geethanandan said tribal leader C K Janu became a part of the NDA due to the intervention of KPJS general secretary Thekkan Sunilkumar and that such matters were not discussed in the organization.
