THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: AICC president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi will reach Kerala in the second week of May to campaign for the UDF candidates.
Sonia Gandhi will reach the state on May 9 and will attend election conventions in Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram. AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi will reach the state on May 12 and will attend conventions in Kayamkulam, Angamaly, and Udumbumchola where his pick of candidates are in the fray.
In Kayamkulam former state youth congress president M Lijju is contesting, national students union president Roji M John is contesting in Angamaly and Senapathy Venu is contesting on Udumbumchola.
Senior party leader A K Antony will be campaigning in the state from May 1. His campaign will start from Kasargod and will conclude in Thiruvananthapuram on May 14. Each day he will be touring each district. In Thiruvananthapuram he will be carrying out a roadshow in the coastal areas of the district on May 14.
Karantaka chief minister Siddharamaih will also be visiting the state to campaign for the Congress candidates especially in Kasargod district.
The Congress has decided to rope in several national leaders like Gulam Nabi Azad, Mallikarjuna Kharge, Mukul Wasnik, Deepak Babria and national INTUC president Sanjeev Reddy for campaigning in the state.
Chief minister Oomme Chandy, KPCC president V M Sudheeran and home minister Ramesh Chennithala have also started touring all districts and their ncampinging will end on May 14.
