PM Narendra Modi on Saturday sought to forge a connection with the people of Assam by referring to the 'special bond' he had with Assam tea. "I have a special bond with Assam tea. It was this tea which I used to sell to people to earn my livelihood . I owe a debt to the state and the time has come to repay it ," Modi said amidst roaring applause at a poll rally in Tinsukia.
In Bokakhat, Modi received a rousing welcome, with former chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta and BJP-AGP alliance candidate Atul Bora welcoming him to the stage. Modi also raked up the issue of rhino poaching as the Kaziranga National Park.
