Guwahati: Almost a month is left for the assembly election results to be declared and BJP is using the time well to build a consensus among sections of the society on the road map of governance in case the saffron party comes to power.
A BJP leader said the saffron party was holding discussions within and outside the party on what should be the new government's priorities.

"Our vision document has outlined a comprehensive development plan for the state. Now, we have to prioritize and prepare a road map for implementation of the promises made in the document. So, even after the election is over, we are busy holding a series of discussions and debates," a senior BJP leader said.
He added that the recently concluded assembly polls was different from the previous elections because the voters "overwhelmingly responded" this time for a positive change.
"So we have to be prepared for the future in case BJP, along with its partners, form the next government. Expectations from people are very high and we have to live up to the expectations," the leader added.
He said issues related to the implementation of Assam Accord to tackle the problem of infiltration from Bangladesh was the main topic of discussions held so far.
The vision document released by Union finance minister Arun Jaitley in March promises to implement the Assam Accord, signed in 1985 after six years of anti-foreigners' movement, in letter and spirit in dealing with problem of infiltration from Bangladesh.
Besides addressing overall development issues, the vision document also promises to free lands belonging to Satras (vaishnavite religious places), other places of worship and cultural and ecological sites from illegal migrants. The BJP said it would set up ideal villages of former servicemen along the India-Bangladesh border to assist security forces in preventing infiltration.
