Around 30 school children visited the warship INS Airavat, an amphibious ship of the Eastern Fleet at Visakhapatnam on Tuesday and Wednesday.
A total of 1714 students along with 198 teachers availed of the opportunity.
The teachers and children were given an overview of the Indian Navy and its primary role in safeguarding the nation's maritime interests. The students were given a guided tour of INS Airavat and informed about various weapons and sensors fitted onboard the ship and its capabilities for conducting amphibious operations along with the Indian Army.
