The number of applicants for NEET has hit a new high and a look at the data for the applicants reveals it’s driven by women

For the first time since the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET-UG was started, 16 lakh applicants have registered for the undergraduate competitive exam. Data analysed by TOI showed that in spite of the pandemic, the number of applicants has risen over the past five years, with the number of women candidates driving the rise.
