West Bengal HS result 2025: Boys record a higher pass rate of 93%, while more girls score 60% and above

The West Bengal HS Examination 2025 results revealed an overall pass percentage of 90.79%, with 4,30,286 students passing. While male students achieved a slightly higher pass rate, female students outperformed males in the number of candidates scoring above 60% across all grade brackets. This trend highlights the increasing academic competitiveness of female students, particularly in urban areas and top-performing districts.

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) announced the Higher Secondary (HS) Examination 2025 results on May 7, 2025. Out of 4,82,948 regular candidates enrolled this year, a total of 4,30,286 students passed, recording an overall pass percentage of 90.79%. A deeper analysis reveals that female students have outperformed their male counterparts in various other categories.Also See: WBCHSE Class 12th Result | West Bengal HS Result Direct Link 2025Of the 2,60,638 female students enrolled for the Class 12 board exams this year, 2,25,775 passed, achieving a pass percentage of 88.88%. In comparison, out of 2,22,310 male students enrolled, 2,04,511 were successful, yielding a slightly higher pass rate of 93.00% for males. However, female students surpassed boys in the number of candidates scoring higher percentages across all grade brackets, especially in the ranges above 60%.

West Bengal HS result 2025: Gender-Wise breakdown

Female students outnumbered male students across all score bands above 60%. In the 60% and above bracket, 1,06,692 girls passed compared to 88,552 boys. Similarly, for the 70% and above category, 62,257 girls qualified, surpassing 48,145 boys. Across districts, female students also showed dominance in participation and success rates. For example, in Kolkata, 53.14% of examinees were girls, with a higher pass rate compared to boys. Similar gender ratios were seen in other top-performing districts such as North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Nadia, and Howrah.
