UPSSSC Recruitment 2026: Pharmacist vacancies rise to 564, UPPCB and Junior Assistant posts revised; details here
The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has issued two significant corrigenda impacting ongoing recruitment drives, bringing important updates for candidates preparing for government jobs in the state. While the Pharmacist recruitment under Advertisement No. 01-Exam/2026 has seen a marginal increase in vacancies, a separate notification concerning the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) recruitment under Advertisement No. 02-Examination/2026 has reduced the total number of posts.
These revisions, issued in March 2026, are crucial for aspirants as they directly influence the number of available positions and competition levels. Candidates who have already applied or are planning to apply must take note of these changes and align their expectations accordingly, while continuing to track official updates from the Commission.
According to the corrigendum issued by UPSSSC, four additional Pharmacist posts have been included in the ongoing recruitment process. These posts fall under departments operating within the Directorate of Medical and Health Services, Uttar Pradesh.
With this change, the number of vacancies has now increased from 560 to 564. The Commission has once again reiterated one of the important clauses mentioned in the original notification, i.e., the number of vacancies, both in total and category-wise, is likely to be increased or decreased in accordance with administrative requirements. This is to say that the candidates should be prepared for further changes in the vacancies as the selection procedure advances.
Despite the revision in vacancy numbers, UPSSSC has not made any changes to the application timeline. Candidates must adhere to the previously announced deadlines:
Initially, 5 posts were advertised under the Panchayati Raj Accounts Directorate, Uttar Pradesh, with the following vertical reservation:
The revised vertical reservation is as follows:
Candidates are advised to rely only on official notifications and stay updated on further corrigenda or announcements to avoid confusion.
