UP Madarsa board results 2026: Girls outshine boys as overall pass percentage reaches 88.26%
The Uttar Pradesh Madarsa Education Board declared the result of the Munshi/Maulvi (secondary) and Alim (senior secondary) examinations for 2026. The overall pass percentage stood at 88.26%, with girls performing better than boys in both categories.
According to official figures, 55,788 students cleared the examinations out of 80,933 registered candidates. The results showed a strong performance by girl students across the state. A total of 29,229 girls passed the examinations, recording a pass percentage of 94.30%. In comparison, 26,559 boys qualified, with a success rate of 85.13%.
The data highlighted a clear lead by girls in both the secondary and senior secondary examinations conducted by the Madarsa Board.
In the Munshi/Maulvi (Secondary) examination, 62,232 students had registered, out of which 47,036 appeared for the test. Among the candidates who appeared, 41,426 students passed, taking the overall pass percentage to 88.07%.
Girls once again performed better than boys. A total of 21,407 girls cleared the examination with a pass percentage of 91.46%. Meanwhile, 20,019 boys passed, recording a success rate of 84.72%.
The Alim (Senior Secondary) examination also recorded strong results this year. Out of 18,701 registered students, 16,175 appeared for the examination. Among them, 14,362 students successfully cleared the test, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 88.79%.
Girls maintained their lead in this category as well. As many as 7,822 girls passed with a success rate of 90.88%, while 6,540 boys qualified with a pass percentage of 86.42%.
The Madarsa Board examinations were conducted under CCTV surveillance across centres in the state. Officials said the examination process was monitored directly from the Madarsa Board headquarters to ensure transparency and prevent unfair practices.
The Uttar Pradesh government said the arrangements reflected its focus on improving the quality and credibility of madrasa education.
