CHENNAI: M Suganthi, daughter of a water can delivery man, has two reasons to celebrate today. One, she scored 496/500 in SSLC exams, and can get to pursue business maths. Second, she can’t resist a glimmer of hope that she would be called in by chief minister C Joseph Vijay and be felicitated for her achievement.Speaking to TOI, Suganthi said, “Words can’t describe how happy I am today. My hard work has paid off. I will also be really happy if the chief minister notices this and wishes me and my mother, who is also a big fan.”Tailor’s daughter turns city topper, takes first step towards doctor dream A student of Govt Girls Higher Secondary School in Ashok Nagar and having scored a centum in science, Suganthi, however, said that her interests lied in the commerce field. “I want to pursue CA and for that, I will be choosing the commerce group in my 11th,” she added.Suganthi’s father S Munusamy is also equally elated. “I don’t understand the groups or what she wants to pursue. She has come this far. I will support her till the end. There were times when I was unable to help out financially, and my friends and well-wishers had extended support at the time,” he said.Ravikrishnamoorthy, a retired advocate from Mylapore who provided financial assistance for the girl’s family, said, “Children like Suganthi require more support.
