Tamil Nadu HSC result 2026: What will be Class 12 pass percentage this year? Check past year trends
The Tamil Nadu School Education Department is set to declare the Class 12 (HSC) results at 9:30 AM on May 8, 2026, with students able to access their marks through multiple platforms. As lakhs of students await the outcome, attention is also on the expected pass percentage, which is likely to continue Tamil Nadu’s long-standing trend of strong academic performance.
Tamil Nadu Class 12 (HSE) results have shown a consistently strong performance trend over the years, with the overall pass percentage remaining in the mid-90s in normal academic cycles. In 2025, the state recorded a pass percentage of 95.03%, slightly higher than 2024’s 94.56%, continuing its stable upward trajectory. In 2023, the pass rate stood at 94.03%, while 2022 saw a marginal variation in reporting at around 93.76–93.80%, indicating steady performance levels even with minor fluctuations.
Students can view their Class 12 results on the official portals — tnresults.nic.in, dge.tn.gov.in and results.digilocker.gov.in. Candidates must log in using their registration number and date of birth as mentioned in their examination records.
Apart from online access, the school education department will send result details through SMS to the mobile numbers submitted by students in the undertaking forms provided to schools earlier.
Students can also check their results through WhatsApp. To use the service, candidates need to send a ‘Hi’ message to 7845252525.
The Board has also issued helpline numbers for students who may have doubts regarding their results. Candidates can contact 14417 for result-related queries.
