The declaration of the Tamil Nadu Class 12 (Plus Two) board exam results 2026 is likely to be delayed, amidst political transition in the state in the aftermath of the Assembly election results. Students across the state, who appeared for the exams held earlier this year, have been waiting for an official announcement on the result date.

The Higher Secondary examinations were conducted from March 2 to March 26, 2026, with nearly eight lakh students appearing across Tamil Nadu.

The department had earlier planned to release the results by May 8, but there may now be a delay until the new education minister assumes office and gives clearance, TOI had reported earlier. In many cases, results are released only after verbal or formal approval from the minister.

An official confirmed to IANS news agency that the evaluation of answer sheets was completed between April 6 and April 20, and the marks have already been uploaded to the official portal.

An official communication will reportedly be issued one day before the results are declared.

Education experts and school representatives have urged the authorities to release the results without further delay, saying that timely declaration helps students plan admissions and avoid uncertainty during the higher education process.

Once released, students will be able to check their TN SSLC Result 2026 on the official websites dge.tn.gov.in and tnresults.nic.in. The provisional marksheet can be downloaded using the registration number and date of birth. Students are advised to keep their hall ticket details ready before checking the result.
